On the forum and through our contacts we have received many requests on how to control your computer from Android. Our research did not last long and we found a program developed by an Italian developer, Marcello Albano, which allows remote control of your smartphone Android web browser of your computer.
The application is called LazyDroid Web Desktop and consists of an application for Android and a client computer if we want to establish a link between two devices via a USB cable, or using WiFi, it is not necessary.
Once installed LazyDroid on our smartphones just hit us up on to enable the instance and enable the desktop browser to access the data and through it we can:
- SMS: You can send text messages via a web interface, just like on your phone. Autocompletion of names / numbers entered, mass messages and much more.
- Contact: You can view and edit contacts on your phone, add and remove phone numbers and emails.
- Call Manager: When your phone starts ringing you will be notified on your desktop web and you can decide whether to respond (using the hands-free phone, or if entered, bud), reject the call or mute the ringer. You can also make calls to a contact or phone number.
- Camera: You can view the webcam of your phone, or alternatively, use it as a Webcam (This function is now also available with Internet Explorer).
- Remote Viewing: You can see the screen of your phone from your desktop web, and eventually capturing screenshots. It needs root permissions.
- Sensors: You can view the sensor values obtained from your phone in real time. In addition, a compass will point the orientation of your phone, and google will show you a map of your location-based telephone network or GPS if available.
- Clipboard: You can view and set the Clipboard to your phone absolutely in real time. Used to “paste text directly into your applications.
- File Manager: A complete file manager with web preview feature to navigate to the memory of your phone. Ability to view images and text by simply double-click the file.
We tried it and it works really well despite being a RC1, we hope that future developments will increase the functionality so we do not have any reason to move on our smartphones.
